UMBRAL'S PARTNER PHYEINMED ENGAGES NEW ADVISOR

Umbral Energy Corp. and the management of PhyeinMed Inc., a Health Canada Stage 5 applicant under the ACMPR (access to cannabis for medical purposes regulations), have noted the appointment of Zena Prokosh as regulatory compliance adviser to PhyeinMed Inc.

Ms. Prokosh, chief executive officer and founder of Zreyas Consulting Inc., offers regulatory compliance advice, application assistance, liaison to Health Canada and other related consulting services to businesses and individuals alike within the cannabis industry, including applicants of all stages, under the ACMPR. Ms. Prokosh holds a BSc in biology from the University of British Columbia and acquired her knowledge of medicinal plants while employed as the curator and Germplasm PlantSMART research technician/lab manager at the UBC Charles Fipke Centre for Innovative Research in Kelowna. She applied this experience to cannabis during her tenure as an alternative responsible person in charge (ARPIC) with THC Biomed Int'l Ltd. During her three years as an ARPIC, she developed a fluency in marijuana for medical purposes regulations (MMPR) and access to cannabis for medical purposes regulations, which allowed her to play an integral role in navigating the company through the MMPR/ACMPR licensing process, resulting in successfully obtaining a production licence. In addition, Ms. Prokosh has further advanced her knowledge of cannabis through being accepted to and attending the 2016 Masterclass Medicinal Cannabis held in Leiden, the Netherlands, hosted by Dr. Arno Hazekamp.

As a side note, Dr. Hazekamp, whose 2013 publication, "Hazekamp, A., and Heerdink, E.R. (2013): The prevalence and incidence of medicinal cannabis on prescription in the Netherlands, Eur. J. Clin. Pharmacy," published on-line April 16, 2013, was included in an addendum (May, 2013) to Health Canada's information for health care professionals -- cannabis (marijuana) and the cannabinoids to suggest the daily dose of dried cannabis for medical purposes to be used by patients.

Ms. Prokosh will assist PhyeinMed as required with regulatory compliance relating to the application and information requests, quality and security controls during construction, as well as provide her valuable advice and assistance during Health Canada inspections.
