Jay Taylor, in the Aug. 12, 2015, edition of Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks, comments on Sandstorm Gold Ltd., recently $3.98. Mr. Taylor said buy eight times between June 19, 2009, and Nov. 14, 2014 (the stock rolled back 1:5 on May 9, 2012) at prices ranging from 44 cents to $13.50. Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the eight buys, the $8,000 position is now worth $7,323. Mr. Taylor says Sandstorm used to be a darling of his, but has been a big disappointment lately. A number of mining projects in which the company acquired a streaming interests have stumbled, the editor explains. Thanks to the wretched condition of the general mining sector however, Sandstorm was able to acquire new royalties. Mr. Taylor reckons Sandstorm will bounce back in due time, but as of now, he much prefers Osisko Gold Royalties over Sandstorm as a royalty/streaming company.
