SLATE RETAIL REIT ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF SHOPPING CENTER IN VIRGINIA

Slate Retail REIT has entered into a binding agreement to purchase Smithfield Shopping Plaza, a 134,644-square-foot grocery-anchored shopping centre located in Smithfield, Va., for $13.95-million (U.S.) ($103 (U.S.) per square foot). The property is anchored by Farm Fresh, a subsidiary of SuperValu Inc. The acquisition is expected to be completed in fourth quarter 2014 and remains subject to customary closing conditions.
