The International Speculator, in its Oct. 6, 2014, issue, says hold Yukon-focused explorer Strategic Metals Ltd. (36 cents). This is the newsletter's second time round with Strategic. It said buy on Jan. 2, 2004, at 31 cents, and again on April 1, 2005, at 22.5 cents. It then said sell on July 1, 2005, at 16.5 cents. Assuming two buys of $1,000 each, selling at 16.5 cents yielded a loss of $802. The Speculator then said buy three more times between Dec. 1, 2011, and Feb. 6, 2013, at prices ranging from 66 cents to $1.39. Assuming another three investments of $1,000, the $3,000 holding is worth $1,224. In a brief update, the writer says the main reason he is holding Strategic Metals is because of its position in sister company Atac Resources Ltd. He adds that tax-loss season is looming, and he will revise his Strategic Metals advice then.
