The Financial Post reports in its Saturday edition after RBC Wealth Management announced internally its plan to "realign certain businesses within its international operations," there are more questions than answers. The Post's Barry Critchley writes questions range from the number of people who will be affected to the amount of business that is involved and the next steps in the process. RBC was sticking to its message. "As we are currently considering a number of strategic options for business impacted, it would be premature to estimate the timing of any next steps," said RBC's Claire Holland in a written statement. She would not comment on how long the restructuring of the Caribbean operations had been under discussion and declined to say what options, including a possible sale, were considered about the wealth management unit take before it was decided to restructure it. RBC plans to exit its international client-wealth-management business in the Caribbean as well as certain international advisory groups based in Canada and the U.S. The Canadian advisory groups are based in Toronto and Montreal and service non-U.S. clients. "We are in the dark," noted an employee who will be affected by the decision.
