The Investment Reporter, in its Feb. 5, 2016, issue, says buy Richelieu Hardware Ltd., recently $66.36. The Reporter said buy 20 times from March 7, 2003, to July 24, 2015, at prices ranging from $14.50 to $65.69. Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the 20 buys, the $20,000 position would now be worth $55,211. The hardware manufacturer, importer and distributor earned $58.7-million, or $2.97 a share, in fiscal 2015, up 12.9 per cent from $52.4-million, or $2.63 a share, from fiscal 2014. Sales rose by 15.9 per cent to $750-million. At the end of fiscal 2015, the company acquired two firms in Texas, which president and chief executive officer Richard Lord says will add annual sales of $11.1-million. These buys should further contribute to the company's strong U.S. sales and fiscal 2016 numbers. Richelieu has an excellent balance sheet: On Nov. 30, it held cash of $29.5-million, which greatly exceeded total debt of $3.6-million. In fiscal 2015, the company generated cash flow of $68.1-million. Another plus is that Richelieu has raised its dividend by 6.7 per cent to 64 cents a share, which yields 1 per cent. Buy for further share price gains and modest, but growing, dividends.
