Stock Pickers and a sister publication, The Successful Investor, have been recommending the stock as a hold since January, 2015. Restaurant Brands is the third-largest fast-food operator in the world (after McDonalds and Yum Brands), with 15,008 Burger King locations and 4,438 Tim Hortons locations in 100 countries. Many of the Tim Hortons locations are in North America. As part of its expansion efforts, Restaurant Brands is trying to sell Tim Hortons franchises in the Philippines, aided by a group of local private investors with which it has formed a 50-50 joint venture. Success in the Philippines would likely prompt forays into China, Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries. Hold.
