PLATINO ENERGY CORP. ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF VICE PRESIDENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TO EXECUTIVE TEAM

Platino Energy Corp.'s board of directors has appointed Rafi Khouri to serve as vice-president, business development, of the corporation.

Tomas Villamil, chief executive officer, stated: "It is with great pleasure that the board and management welcome Rafi to the Platino Energy team. Rafi's international oil and gas expertise in equity capital markets, business development and operations is a perfect complement to Platino's ongoing growth strategy in Colombia."

Mr. Khouri has provided business development services to the corporation in a consulting role since June, 2014, and brings close to 20 years of oil and gas experience to this role. He graduated from the American University of Beirut in applied chemistry and has a master of business administration from the University of Alberta. Before this appointment he was president of Resh Kaph Consulting Inc., a capital markets consultancy firm based in Alberta. Mr. Khouri spent seven years as a top-rated equity analyst covering the international oil and gas sector, including as senior vice-president, equity capital markets, with Raymond James Ltd., where his work was focused on establishing and growing the international oil and gas research franchise. Mr. Khouri also spent 10 years in various technical and managerial roles in the oil and gas industry in Canada, Africa and the Middle East, including as corrosion engineer for Total S.A.'s Girassol project offshore Angola.

Platino has granted Mr. Khouri 500,000 options to acquire an equivalent number of common shares pursuant to the terms of its stock option plan. The options have an exercise price of 56 cents per share and expire on Sept. 2, 2019. All stock option grants are subject to receipt of the necessary regulatory approvals.
