James Kwantes, in the April 30, 2016, edition of Resource Opportunities, refreshes his buy of Mark O'Dea's Pilot Gold Inc., recently 69 cents. Mr. Kwantes said buy on March 29, 2015, at 81 cents and on Dec. 30, 2015, at 31.5 cents. Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the two buys, the $2,000 position is now worth $3,041. Pilot has rocketed up from just 22 cents in January. It has a new chief executive officer, Cal Everett, and a new exploration focus, the Goldstrike project in Utah. Goldstrike contains a historical open-pit mine that produced 209,000 ounces of gold from 1988 to 1996. It was acquired by Pilot in 2014, but only recently has it become a priority. Pilot started drilling earlier this year and has already enjoyed some encouraging results, such as 57.9 metres of 1.19 grams per tonne gold and 35.1 metres of 2.1 g/t gold. A resource estimate is targeted by year-end. Meanwhile, Pilot has also started a four-hole drill program at its Kinsley Mountain project in Nevada, and it is exploring options for its two projects owned with Teck Resources in the increasingly turbulent Turkey. Mr. Kwantes is more interested in Goldstrike, and expects year-round drill results to provide a "catalyst" for Pilot's stock.
