2018-01-31 07:42 ET - News Release

Mr. Doug Blakeway reports

NANOTECH GRANTED NEW KOLOUROPTIK PATENT IN CHINA

The Chinese Patent Office has granted Nanotech Security Corp. a new patent in nano-optic technology. This patent expands Nanotech's proprietary patent portfolio with additional protection of the company's next-generation KolourOptik technology.

Patent No. ZL 2014 8 0036136.6 builds on core patents, securing strategic intellectual property on a full colour optical display device comprising multiple nano-structure arrays. Intended as an authentication device, this technology displays a wide range of colours with the ability to produce photo-like images ideal for banknotes.

Nanotech now holds 21 issued patents in the areas of nano-optic technology and colour shifting optical thin film. These two areas are divided further into 13 patent families covering various aspects of the company's technologies. With more than 30 patent applications pending in over nine countries, Nanotech looks forward to further protection of its technology in the future. By continuing to invest in research and development the company will expand its intellectual property, including patents, and ensure the investment provides value and benefit to the company and its shareholders.

About Nanotech Security Corp.

Nanotech researches, creates and produces nano-optic products that have brand protection and enhancement applications across a wide range of markets including banknotes, tax stamps, secure government documents, commercial branding and the pharmaceutical industry.

The company's nano-optic technology employs arrays of billions of nano-indentations that are impressed or embossed onto a substrate material such as polymer, paper, metal or fabric. By using sophisticated algorithms to direct an electron beam, the company creates visual images with colour shifting effects such as 3-D and perceived movement, and can also display high-definition colours including skin tones, and whites and blacks, which are not possible using holographic technology.

We seek Safe Harbor.
