MELKIOR COMMENCES DIAMOND DRILL PROGRAM ON CARSCALLEN PROPERTY NEAR TIMMINS, ONTARIO
Melkior Resources Inc. has commenced a five-hole drill program on its 100-per-cent-owned Carscallen gold project, which is located approximately 25 kilometres west of the centre of Timmins, Ont.
The first hole is located in the vicinity of the Aumo shaft and on strike with a 2014 drill hole that intersected 39.2 grams per tonne gold and 36.3 grams per tonne silver over 0.3 metre. Recent surface samples (2015) were found to contain 1.73 grams per tonne gold, 8.02 grams per tonne gold and 9.66 grams per tonne gold (refer to Melkior's press releases dated Dec. 2, 2015, Sept. 9, 2015, and Feb. 18, 2015).
The second hole will be drilled under a recent surface sample, found to contain 58.8 grams per tonne gold on the Jowsey vein. Nearby drill hole, CAR-86-2013 intersected 40.4 grams per tonne gold over 0.65 metre about 30 metres south of the trace of the current hole.
The third hole is planned to intersect a new zone that has not been tested by drilling in the recent past. Surface samples (2015) from the Arsenic zone were found to contain 1.3 grams per tonne gold, 0.796 gram per tonne gold, 0.479 gram per tonne gold and 0.33 gram per tonne gold.
Two additional holes will be drilled to complete the program by mid-December.
