Taylor says buy Midas Gold

2015-09-04 20:49 ET - In the News

Jay Taylor, in the Aug. 12, 2015, edition of Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks, says buy Midas Gold Corp., recently 34.5 cents. Mr. Taylor said buy on July 18, 2013, at 87.5 cents. Assuming a $1,000 investment for the buy, the position is now worth $393. Mr. Taylor says that it is the share price of companies like Midas that leave him shaking his head in disbelief. With 160.8 million shares outstanding, the company's market cap is a mere $55-million. That is astonishing to the editor considering Midas's Stibnite gold project in Idaho contains four million ounces of gold, which will translate to 337,000 ounces of annual production over 12 years. According to management, Stibnite hosts the eighth largest gold deposit in the United States. At a gold price of $1,350 (U.S.), a prefeasibility study pegged Stibnite s NPV at $832-million (U.S.) and its IRR at 19.3 per cent. All-in sustaining costs are expected to be $526 (U.S.) an ounce. As well, Mr. Taylor notes that Franco-Nevada and Teck Resources have been strong supporters of Midas. He agrees with fellow newsletter writer John Kaiser, who sees Midas as a good speculation despite the high gold price used in the prefeasibility study. Midas is a buy.
