The Investment Reporter, in its Jan. 29, 2016, issue, says buy Linamar Corp., recently $55.79. The Reporter said buy 10 times between Nov. 17, 1995, and April 24, 2015, at prices ranging from $7.93 to $90 (the stock split 3 for 1 on May 15, 1998). Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the 10 buys, the $10,000 position is now worth $42,009. Linamar manufactures automotive components, assemblies and castings. Since the Reporter last examined the auto parts sector in its Sept. 4, 2015, issue, these stocks have gone up by an average of 2.4 per cent. Linamar contributes to this upward trend. In 2016, it is expected to earn $7.29 a share, up 14 per cent from 2015. Based on this estimate, it trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 8.5 times. It is also a good sign that the company has a low debt-to-cash-flow ratio of 0.5 times. Linamar currently pays a 40-cent dividend. Buy.
