Stock Pickers Digest, in the August, 2016, issue, refreshes its buy of Leon's Furniture Ltd., recently $15.26. Stock Pickers said buy 27 times from July, 1999, to July, 2016, at prices ranging from $9.80 to $51 (the stock split 4 for 1 on June 27, 2007). Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the 27 buys, the $27,000 position is now worth $44,757. In this brief update, Stock Pickers reminds readers that earlier this year, Leon's took over the leases on eight furniture showrooms that had been operated by the money-losing Sears Canada. Now, Leon's is converting the showrooms to its own brand, and aims to open all eight of them by September. Four of the showrooms are in British Columbia, three are in Ontario and one is in New Brunswick. Leon's remains a buy.
