Khalkos samples up to 20 g/t Au at Malartic

2016-05-25 10:40 ET - News Release

Mr. Robert Gagnon reports

KHALKOS OBTAINED UP TO 20 G/T AU ON ITS MALARTIC PROPERTY (REVILLARD PART)

Khalkos Exploration Inc. has released the results of surface sampling undertaken on its new Malartic property, Revillard part (see press release May 11, 2016). The due diligence done by Khalkos on the main stripping zone and its surrounding area indicated that the principal showing (100 metres in length and 30 metres in width) remains open to the west, with a selected sample that yielded 13 grams per tonne gold. No channel sampling was done on this zone. Note that in 2006, Britannica Resources undertook 334 channel samples (0.5 metre in length each) for a total of 125 metres. Khalkos yielded 20 g/t Au in a selected sample, approaching the highest value obtained in channel sampling, which was 29 g/t Au (see press release of Britannica Resources July 19, 2006). Two other random samples on the trench yielded abnormal values between 0.18 and 0.26 g/t Au. Note that the northern part of the trench yielded more than 14 g/t Au, and no follow-up was done by previous manager. It is thus obvious that the principal showing remains open and other stripping is required. In addition, Khalkos's team discovered, at more than 200 metres west of the main stripping zone, an ancient trench containing quartz vein blocks mineralized in pyrite, chalcopyrite, covellite, galena and native gold. Two samples were collected and yielded 11,5 g/t and 1,6 g/t Au. No stripping or recent drilling took place in this zone. Khalkos plans to undertake shortly surface fieldworks on the main stripping zone and its possible extension.

The Malartic property (part JAG, part Malartic Lakeshore, part Revillard) consists of 82 mining claims covering more than 10 kilometres of favourable auriferous structure in the Malartic mining camp, 30 kilometres northwest to the city of Val d'Or. The property is located in the heart of Cadillac deformation zone and at the proximity of important gold producers, at only two kilometres of the Lapa mine (Agnico Eagle), 11 kilometres of the Canadian Malartic mine (Yamana and Agnico Eagle) and 20 kilometres of the Laronde mine (Agnico Eagle), on the same geological contact where the gold mines Doyon-Bousquet, Laronde and Westwood are located.

Samples from the Malartic property were assayed by ALS Chemex laboratory in Val d'Or, Que. Following the fire assay, samples yielded greater than 10 g/t were reassayed by the gravimetric method. Samples were prepared following standard procedures of the laboratory.

This press release was prepared by Robert Gagnon, president of Khalkos, qualified person pursuant to National Instrument 43-101.
