GATEKEEPER ANNOUNCES UNITED STATES AIR FORCE CONTRACT AWARD FOR ITS HIGH DEFINITION AIRBORNE DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDER

Gatekeeper Systems Inc. has received a new contract from the United States Air Force for Gatekeeper's Viperfish SDI-1 high-definition airborne digital video recorders. The value of the contract is approximately $350,000 (U.S.).

Gatekeeper received a purchase order from Stirling Computers Corp. for 25 airborne high-definition digital video recorders and is expected to deliver within 90 days of the purchase order being received. Stirling is an experienced Department of Defense contractor with past awards totalling over $100-million (U.S.).

Our Viperfish SDI-1 high-definition airborne recorder not only meets military standards such as electromagnetic interference and explosive environment, but it does so by providing a cost-effective, high performance and fully compliant platform for multiple defence and home security applications. The Viperfish airborne digital video recorder was required to capture 720P or greater resolution over an HD SDI interface from L3 Wescam's MX-15Di sensor. Other requirements included synchronized audio, carry-on carry-off external storage media and various military standards including MIL-STD-461F electromagnetic interference/conductance, and MIL-STD-810G environmental including explosive atmosphere.

Gatekeeper, through its Deep Development Corp. division, has been a long-standing supplier of airborne digital video recorders for the United States Air Force AC-130 Gunships sold directly or through defence contractors such as Boeing Aerospace.
