Goldcorp Inc. is a defendant in a lawsuit filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia by its former chief financial officer, Lindsay Hall, who is seeking money beyond the $3.15-million termination payment that he received. He claims that the company failed to pay him performance share units, or PSUs, and unfairly paid him nothing for PSUs that he had received in prior years. He has not placed a dollar figure on his loss.
The allegations are contained in a notice of claim that Mr. Hall filed at the Vancouver courthouse on June 22, 2016. He identifies himself as a resident of Victoria, B.C., who worked as Goldcorp's CFO for about 10 years. His annual salary was $830,000. He also received an annual bonus, stock options, performance-based compensation, benefits and six weeks of vacation. (Mr. Hall does not say exactly how much money he made, but for fiscal 2015 the company disclosed that his bonus, PSUs, stock options and restricted share units were worth a combined $2.46-million.)
