The International Speculator, in its Nov. 7, 2014, issue, downgrades Endeavour Mining Corp. (recently 60 cents) to a sell from a hold. The newsletter said buy three times between Feb. 1, 2007, and Sept. 6, 2013, at prices ranging from 82 cents to $7.75. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each of the three buys, selling the $3,000 position at 60 cents yields a loss of $1,923. The writer says he is selling because of the Ebola scare. So far, the company's operations in the West African country of Mali are unaffected, but the risk is still too high. He argues it is best to get out of harm's way. Fellow newsletter writer Brien Lundin is, to date, sticking with Endeavour. He said buy three times between December, 2002, and June, 2014, at prices ranging from 72 cents to $1.80; along the way he sold half at $7.63 in May, 2006.
