Brien Lundin, in the December, 2014/January, 2015, edition of the Gold Newsletter, says buy Endeavour Silver Corp., recently $2.81. Mr. Lundin said buy Endeavour nine times between August, 2005, and October, 2013, at prices ranging from $1.62 to $9.43. Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the nine buys, the $9,000 position is now worth $7,449. The company lost 11 cents a share in the third quarter of 2014, due mainly to declining silver prices. Mr. Lundin says that the company is having difficulty getting its El Cubo mine in Mexico to produce profitably at current silver prices. Management says it will make a decision in January, 2015, whether to put El Cubo on care and maintenance, spend on accessing the high-grade sections of the mine, or take a middle route by mining only higher-grade materials and reducing throughput. At its Guanacevi mine in Mexico, production increased 6 per cent in the third quarter of 2014 compared with the third quarter of 2013, but it was offset by an 18-per-cent decline in gold production. Mr. Lundin says he is confident that Endeavour's management will throw the right levers to see the company through any difficulties, and it is a great speculation on the long-term future of precious metals.
