Stock Pickers refreshes Delphi Energy buy

2015-05-28 22:20 ET - In the News

Stock Pickers Digest, in its May, 2015, issue, refreshes its buy of Delphi Energy Corp., recently $1.78. Stock Pickers previously said buy 13 times from June, 2007, to January, 2015, at prices ranging from 66 cents to $3.34. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each of the 13 buys, the $13,000 position would now be worth $14,798. In the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, the oil and gas producer had cash flow per share of 10 cents, up from seven cents a share a year ago. The company raised its production by 33.9 per cent and realized higher oil prices. Delphi will cut its expenditures to $50-million this year from $101-million in 2014; this move should let it keep production steady at current levels. The company can raise spending later this year if oil and gas prices move higher. Delphi's $156.8-million of debt is now a somewhat high 58 per cent of its $269-million market capitalization. This is partly because its market cap has dropped along with those of most oil and gas stocks. The company is expected to generate cash flow of 26 cents a share in 2015, giving a forward price-to-cash-flow ratio of 6.8. The stock is a buy for aggressive investors.
