Brien Lundin, in the July, 2016, edition of the Gold Newsletter, refreshes his buy of Calibre Mining Corp., recently 15 cents. Mr. Lundin said buy in September, 2014, at 10 cents and in April, 2016, at 13 cents. A $1,000 investment for each of the two buys is now worth $2,653. Mr. Lundin has long seen potential in Calibre's projects in Nicaragua. His optimism seems to be shared by Calibre's joint venturers, which include Iamgold, B2Gold and Centerra Gold. Centerra, which has an option agreement on Calibre's La Luz project, has agreed to expand the 12-square-kilometre project to include another 241 square kilometres of mineral concessions. Centerra can earn a 51-per-cent interest in the expanded project by spending $5-million by Dec. 31, 2018. By spending another $4-million by Dec. 31, 2020, it can boost its interest to 70 per cent. Meanwhile, Iamgold, which is earning an interest in the Eastern Borosi project, has drilled 18 holes so far this year and released results from the first 11. Highlights included 4.51 metres of 1.81 grams per tonne gold and 146.3 g/t silver. Mr. Lundin is eager to see more results from Calibre's Nicaraguan projects. The stock provides "excellent value" and is a buy at current levels.
