CONNACHER ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Christopher
Bloomer will become Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd.'s chief executive officer, effective
April 11, 2013. In conjunction with this role, Mr. Bloomer will also be
appointed a director of Connacher.
Mr. Bloomer has over 30 years of experience in the domestic and
international energy business. For the past 10 years he has been an
executive with Petrobank Energy and Resources, providing leadership
throughout Petrobank's corporate evolution. He has held the roles of
vice-president, heavy oil; chief financial officer; and, most recently,
senior vice-president, chief operating officer and director. Mr.
Bloomer began his career at Shell Canada and moved with increasing
responsibility through exploration, production, finance, oil sands
development and ultimately was director, liquids business, responsible
for the crude oil and natural-gas-liquids marketing business and its facilities.
Subsequently he was senior vice-president and chief operating officer
of Castle Energy, a Nasdaq-listed company, responsible for its Canadian
crude oil marketing business and its United States exploration and production
operations, as well as its Texas pipeline operations. Following his
role at Castle, Mr. Bloomer was president, chief operating officer
and a director of Talon International, a TSX Venture Exchange-listed company,
operating primarily in Latin America. Mr. Bloomer has served on the
boards of several Canadian public energy companies and is a member of
the Alberta Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists
(APEGA).
In connection with the appointment of Mr. Bloomer, Colin Evans, chairman
and co-managing director, and Kelly Ogle, co-managing director, will
transition back to their roles as directors of the company. Mr. Evans
will continue as chairman of the board.
