Stock Pickers says buy Chemtrade Logistics

2015-04-20 21:20 ET - In the News

Stock Pickers Digest, in its April, 2015, issue, says buy Chemtrade Logistics Income Fund, recently $21.38. Stock Pickers said buy seven times from December, 2010, to July, 2014, at prices ranging from $14.04 to $21.19. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each of the seven buys, the $7,000 position would now be worth $10,497. Chemtrade removes byproducts from resource firms and converts these substances into useful chemicals. The fund's revenues rose to $313.3-million in the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, from $$201.6-million a year earlier. The increase largely came from General Chemical, which Chemtrade acquired for $900-million (U.S.) in January, 2014. The fund's cash flow went up to $31.9-million from $16.5-million. Cash flow per share increased more slowly to 49 cents from 40 cents on more units outstanding after the General Chemical purchase. Following the acquisition, Chemtrade's debt stands at a high $771-million, or 51.4 per cent of its $1.5-billion market capitalization. The newsletter thinks the fund's steady cash flow will let it pay down that debt, and its dividend looks safe. Chemtrade pays a 10-cent monthly distribution, which is a high annual yield of 5.6 per cent. The stock remains a buy.
