GRUPO BIMBO RECEIVES CLEARANCE UNDER THE HART-SCOTT-RODINO ACT TO PROCEED WITH THE CANADA BREAD TRANSACTION

Further to the previously announced agreement to sell all of Canada Bread Co. Ltd.'s issued and outstanding common shares to Grupo Bimbo SAB de CV of Mexico, Grupo Bimbo has received clearance from the U.S. Department of Justice under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act to proceed with the transaction. The Canadian Competition Bureau has previously cleared the transaction.

Subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals, the transaction is expected to close in the second quarter 2014.
