Jay Taylor, in the Aug. 17, 2016, edition of Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks, refreshes his buy of Auryn Resources Inc., recently $3.49. Mr. Taylor said buy on March 16, 2015, at $1.25 and on March 16, 2016, at $1.48. Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the two buys, the $2,000 position is now worth $5,147. Auryn has been busy scooping up projects with "world-class size potential," says Mr. Taylor. Most recently, it entered an option to acquire the Sombrero copper-gold project in Peru, interpreted to be on the northwestern margins of a belt that hosts the Las Bambas, Haquira, Tintaya and other deposits. Auryn can acquire 80 per cent of Sombrero by paying $200,000 and spending $2.1-million (U.S.) on the project over five years, and can then acquire the remaining 20 per cent for $5-million. If Auryn goes ahead with acquiring Sombrero, it will own three projects in Peru, one in British Columbia and one in Nunavut. The Nunavut one, a gold property called Committee Bay, would by itself have enticed Mr. Taylor to buy Auryn. With three or four other properties now in the company's portfolio, the stock is not just any old favourite of Mr. Taylor's, but "one of my very top favourites."
