Kwantes says why to buy AuRico Metals

2015-08-28 22:09 ET - In the News

James Kwantes, in the Aug. 8, 2015, edition of Resource Opportunities, says why to buy AuRico Metals Inc., recently 52 cents. This is the first time Mr. Kwantes has recommended AuRico Metals, a company spun out of the merger of Alamos Gold Inc. and AuRico Gold Inc., which closed in early July. AuRico Metals has a 1.5-per-cent net smelter royalty on Alamos's Young-Davidson mine in Ontario. As well, it has a 2-per-cent NSR on the Fosterville gold mine in Australia, and 1-per-cent royalties on two other Australian operations. Mr. Kwantes also notes that AuRico Metals owns the Kemmes copper-gold project in north-central British Columbia, plus the company has $20-million in cash. The writer says there has already been "plenty of jockeying" for positions in the company, with Sandstorm Gold Ltd. revealing in a July 27 filing that it had spent more than $460,000 buying AuRico Metals shares from the market at prices ranging from 51 cents to 55 cents, for a total position of 11.8 million shares. Scott Perry, the chairman of AuRico Metals, has also been buying the stock, spending $550,000 and paying up to 74 cents a share.
