ARCHON APPOINTS PATRICK EVANS AS DIRECTOR

Patrick Evans has been appointed to Archon Minerals Ltd.'s board of directors. Mr. Evans is currently president and chief executive officer of Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. and was previously a director and/or officer of several mining companies, including Placer Dome Inc., SouthernEra Resources Ltd., Messina Ltd., Southern Platinum Corp., Weda Bay Minerals Inc. and Norsemont Mining Inc. Mr. Evans is a graduate of the University of Cape Town where he holds bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees.
