The TSX Venture Exchange fell 13.86 points to 754.76 Wednesday. David Patterson and Colin Watt's halted capital pool shell, Oakham Capital Corp. (OKM), plans to acquire Lithium S Corp. for its qualifying transaction. The shell will roll back 1 for 9, leaving it with 444,444 postconsolidated shares issued, then issue 51,327,485 postconsolidated shares to Lithium S's shareholders.
Lithium S was formed this year. It does not yet have any lithium mining interests, but according to one of its co-founders, long-time mining promoter Stephen Dattels, the company is "pursuing a number of potential projects in Argentina."
From 1983 to 1987, Mr. Dattels was a director of Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX: $26.00). After leaving Barrick, he began founding mineral exploration and mining investment companies, one of which was International Pursuit Corp. International Pursuit held mining interests in Southeast Asia. It peaked at $6.25 on the Toronto Stock Exchange in October, 1996.
