New York spot gold gained $4.00 to $1,248.20 on Wednesday. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 3.44 points to 800.92 while the TSX Gold Index lost 0.73 point to 212.84. Alacer Gold Corp. (ASR) led Canadian gold miners lower. It dropped 18 cents to $2.78 on 2.48 million shares, while Goldcorp Inc. (G) managed a 14-cent gain to $21.29 on 5.53 million shares.
Stephen de Jong and George Salamis's Integra Gold Corp. (ICG), up five cents to 83 cents on 2.46 million shares, has updated its resource estimate for the Triangle deposit, on its Lamaque gold project near Val d'Or. The company now has 6.26 million tonnes indicated averaging 7.32 grams per tonne, with another 5.44 million tonnes at 5.67 grams per tonne, for a combined 2.46 million ounces. In its previous update, just four months old, Integra had 1.74 million ounces at Triangle. It also has another 444,000 ounces indicated and 350,000 inferred elsewhere at Lamaque that are not part of the latest update.
