New York spot gold rose $5.40 to $1,233.20 on Wednesday. The TSX Venture Exchange added 2.82 points to 838.14 while the TSX Gold Index slid 0.54 point to 224.24. Most Canadian gold miners moved little today, although Tahoe Resources Inc. (THO) slipped 28 cents to $11.62 on 2.34 million shares.

Mario Bouchard's Radisson Mining Resources Inc. (RDS), unchanged at 17.5 cents on 184,000 shares, has received assays of up to five grams of gold per tonne over six metres at its O'Brien project in the Cadillac district of Quebec. The assays are from another three holes drilled on the property. Mr. Bouchard, president and chief executive officer, says he is "very excited" with the results, as the company continues to encounter gold outside the existing resource. (Mr. Bouchard then let fly the usual Howe Street bafflegab to show his excitement, noting that the synergies derived from the ongoing historical data compilation exercise, combined with insights gleaned from the ongoing drilling program will help drive Radisson's exploration program.)
