New York spot gold fell $2.90 to $1,170.40 on Thursday. The TSX Venture Exchange lost 0.47 point to 749.50 while the TSX Gold Index lost 0.16 point to 193.93. Endeavour Mining Corp. (DGC) had a good day, gaining $1.16 to $22.60 on 716,000 shares, but Alacer Gold Corp. (ASR) did not. It lost 13 cents to $2.17 on 2.13 million shares.
Chris Zerga and Peter Hawley's Scorpio Gold Corp. (SGN), up one cent to eight cents on 575,000 shares, has received assays of up to 9.64 grams of gold per tonne over 6.86 metres from the Bunkhouse Hill region at its Mineral Ridge project in Nevada. The assays are from a 15-hole drill program competed this year that probed the Bunkhouse Hill area, just northeast of the Mary LC pit. All 15 holes hit gold, with several returning grades topping four grams per tonne over at least four metres. The latest drilling follows work last year that produced comparable grades in a 15-hole program. The best of those hits assayed 9.22 grams per tonne over 7.62 metres.
