Scott Drever's SilverCrest Mines Inc. (SVL) rose 11 cents to $1.07 on 13.08 million shares, after receiving a $1.11-a-share takeover offer from Keith Neumeyer's First Majestic Silver Corp. (FR: $4.02). First Majestic is after SilverCrest's Santa Elena mine in Mexico, where better-than-expected silver and gold production has prompted the company to boost its 2015 target to 5.1 million ounces of silver equivalent, up from 4.4 million ounces. SilverCrest also has $30-million in cash, $5-million of which will be spun out to a new company that will continue exploring at SilverCrest's handful of silver-gold properties in northern Mexico. Chief operating officer Eric Fier will take over as president of the spinout. The board will remain the same.
