The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Friday was a positive 70-55-132. The TSX Venture Exchange gained six points to 806 while polished diamond prices were flat. Paul Ogilvie's Saint Jean Carbon Inc. (SJL) gained one-half cent to six cents on 1.85 million shares. The company has been practising a little silence this week, probably to the approval of the regulators.
Grenville Thomas and Ken Armstrong's North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR) closed unchanged at 22.5 cents on 7,000 shares. Pikoo garnered significant attention in 2013, when North Arrow discovered several kimberlites, and one of them, PK-150, proved to be significantly diamondiferous. Much of that initial enthusiasm has evaporated since then, as North Arrow has been unable to find any other rich pipes in the area, but Mr. Armstrong, president and chief executive officer, says there are promising new areas that it will further explore this year.
