The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Friday was a rousing 70-53-143. The TSX Venture Exchange gained nine points to 749 while polished diamond prices edged lower. Matt Manson's Stornoway Diamond Corp. (SWY) gained one cent to $1 on 1.12 million shares. The company has had no news since its first sale of diamonds from the Renard mine in Quebec concluded last week. The sale went well with the best goods, not so well with the less desirable gems given the (one hopes) temporarily tough market for rough.

Quentin Yarie's Honey Badger Exploration Inc. (TUF), unchanged at 3.5 cents on 160,000 shares, says that a recent helicopter-borne magnetic survey has confirmed that previously identified magnetic anomalies on its LG diamond project in the James Bay lowlands of Quebec "have the potential to be kimberlites." This is apparently an upgrade from June, when Mr. Yarie, president and chief executive officer, said that the circular targets "have magnetic anomalies typical of kimberlite-like features." Mr. Yarie is also enthused that the anomalies are supported by kimberlite indicators found in lake sediments near the anomalies.
