The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a rousing 82-56-126. The TSX Venture Exchange gained nine points to 834 while polished diamond prices inched upward. Patrick Power's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD) closed unchanged at 3.5 cents on 4.34 million shares. The company has acquired several new diamond prospects over the past few years but its promotion is lagging.
Randy Turner's Canterra Minerals Corp. (CTM), down one-half cent to nine cents on 66,000 shares, is acquiring a 70-per-cent interest in the West Carswell diamond project in the western Athabasca region of northwestern Saskatchewan from Canalaska Uranium Ltd. (CVV: $1.26). To earn a 50-per-cent interest Canterra must pay $100,000 in cash, issue two million shares and spend $1-million over three years. It can add another 20 per cent by paying another $100,000 in cash, issuing another one million shares and spending another $4-million over a further three-year period.
