The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a mediocre 64-76-123. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 13 points to 754 while polished diamond prices edged downward. Matt Manson's Stornoway Diamond Corp. (SWY), just 90 cents two weeks ago, had another good day, gaining one cent to $1.14 on 5.78 million shares. The company recently declared its Renard mine in Northern Quebec to have achieved continuous production.
Ken MacNeill and George Read's Shore Gold Inc. (SGF), up one cent to 21 cents on 222,000 shares, has wrapped up its core drilling program at Orion South in central Saskatchewan. The company completed eight holes to an average depth of 200 metres on the western fringe of the mammoth pipe. Mr. Read, senior vice-president of exploration and development, says the additional drilling was needed to "further expand the internal stratigraphy" of the pipe, which translates to gleaning more information ahead of a revised feasibility study of the company's Star-Orion South project.
