The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a rousing 70-40-146. The TSX Venture Exchange gained three points to 678 while polished diamond prices were flat. Grenville Thomas and Ken Armstrong's North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR) gained one-half cent to 16.5 cents on 332,000 shares. The stock is bumbling along near a five-year low in the wake of bad news from its Qilalugaq and Redemption diamond projects. Whether the news was bad as well at its Pikoo project will depend on diamond counts that should be available soon.

Dermot Desmond and Patrick Evans's Kennady Diamonds Inc. (KDI), up four cents to $3.80 on 3,000 shares, has encouraging new drill hits from its Kennady North project, 10 kilometres northeast of Gahcho Kue in the Northwest Territories. The company's new president and chief executive officer, Dr. Rory Moore, says the busy spring drilling program will have to be called off soon because of the melting ice. Four new holes into Faraday-1 yielded kimberlite intercepts of up to 38.17 metres, while 17 new tests at Faraday-3 produced hits of up to 48.35 metres. Meanwhile, three holes into the Hobbes kimberlite produced modest hits, the longest of which was less than six metres.
