Patrick Evans and Dermot Desmond's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPV) lost seven cents to $4.52 on 48,000 shares. The company and its co-venturer, De Beers Canada, continue construction of their billion-dollar diamond mine at Gahcho Kue, 250 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife. The work is on schedule and within budget.
Jean-Raymond Boulle's Diamond Fields International Ltd. (DFI: $0.01) has wrapped up a second phase of work at ML-111, a diamond concession off the coast of Namibia. The program was arranged last fall with International Mining and Dredging Holding Ltd. (IMDH). The co-venturers completed geophysics over several areas of interest late last year in the first stage. Now, they have completed marine diamond sampling operations in areas delineated by the geophysics. That work produced 221.55 carats of diamonds through drill sampling.
