The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Friday was a mediocre 38-42-155. The TSX Venture Exchange gained three points to 508 while polished diamond prices edged lower. Robert Gannicott and Brendan Bell's Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC) had yet another good day, gaining 46 cents to $15.65 on 300,000 shares. There is no news to account for the rise but investors seem happy with the outcome of a negotiated end to a shareholder coup.
Bruce Counts, Paul Cox and Mike Power's Proxima Diamonds Corp., the reverse takeover target of Mr. Cox and Richard Godfrey's Adent Capital Corp. (ANT.H: $0.02), is planning a winter exploration program on two of its 16 diamond projects in Canada's North. Mr. Cox, who is president and chief executive officer of Adent and also president of Proxima, said the latter company was finalizing plans late last year to complete geophysics over the Cullinan and Nassak properties. The work is to start in mid-February.
