The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a 51-51-150 draw. The TSX Venture Exchange gained one point to 700 while polished diamond prices were flat. Ellen Clements's New Nadina Explorations Inc. (NNA) gained one cent to 1.5 cents on 1.84 million shares. New Nadina has Monument, a promising but dormant diamond property on the south shore of Lac de Gras, and Silver Queen, a metals prospect in British Columbia that has been tied up in litigation for the past year. Nearly all today's trading came in a Haywood Securities cross. The identity of the seller is unknown, but the number of shares, 1,782,582, matches the holding of Ms. Clements's other struggling company, Kettle River Resources Ltd. (KRR: $0.005). Chris Bogart's Standard Graphite Corp. (SGH) jumped 1.5 cents to three cents on 1.27 million shares without supporting news. The company touts itself as North America's premier pure-play graphite exploration company. Lately it has been all play and no work thanks to its meagre treasury.
