The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a meandering 54-51-142. The TSX Venture Exchange rose fractionally to 998 while polished diamond prices inched upward. Patrick Evans's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPV) fell three cents to $5.12 on 17,000 shares. Mountain province recently produced a revised feasibility study for its Gahcho Kue project in the Northwest Territories. It showed a discounted net present value of $1-billion, but John Kaiser, veteran diamond stock guru and long-time Mountain Province booster, was unimpressed. He said sell, but Mr. Evans's promotion is proving resilient. Paul Gill's Lomiko Metals Inc. (LMR) fell 1.5 cents to six cents on 3.03 million shares. Lomiko tripled to 18.5 cents late last year when Mr. Gill ramped up his graphene promotion but it has since found its way home. Much of the company's plan hinges on it producing graphite from the Quatre Milles project in Quebec. It does not yet have a resource on the property and in fact it had spent less than $400,000 on exploration at last report.
