Mr. Christopher Anderson reports
XIMEN ANNOUNCES 2014 DRILL PROGRAM COMPLETED - ASSAYS PENDING: BRETT GOLD PROPERTY, VERNON, BC
Ximen Mining Corp.'s diamond drill program on the Brett
epithermal gold property in Southern British Columbia is now complete. Drilling tested
high-grade vein-style targets as well as lower-grade bulk-tonnage gold
mineralization, and successfully intersected both styles of gold
mineralization. In total, 13 holes totalling 2,977 metres were drilled from nine sites over an area measuring approximately one kilometre east-west by 850 metres
north-south and over an elevation range of 470 metres. Epithermal alteration
was encountered in drilling throughout this large area. Alteration and gold
mineralization are controlled both by high-angle structures and by favourable
permeable units within the volcanic stratigraphy.
Core logging and sampling are now complete, and all samples have been
submitted to the analytical laboratory. In total, 1,810 drill core samples
were collected and submitted to ActLabs in Kamloops for preparation and
analysis.
Results from the first five holes have been released (see Ximen news release dated Nov. 10, 2014), which targeted the high-grade epithermal vein structures.
Assays are pending from the next eight holes, which primarily tested the lower-grade bulk-tonnage targets identified in the geophysical surveys.
Highlights include from the first five holes include:
-
0.9 metre of 34.18 grams per tonne gold (DDH B14-01);
-
1.3 metres of 24.7 grams per tonne gold (DDH B14-04);
-
One metre of 20.5 grams per tonne gold (DDH B14-05);
-
30.1 metres of 1.82 grams per tonne gold (DDH B14-04);
-
33 metres of 0.82 gram per tonne gold (DDH B14-05);
-
16.55 metres of 1.88 grams per tonne gold (DDH B14-05).
