COOLSAVE INSTALLATION OF SMARTCOOL ESM TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATES POTENTIAL FOR SAVINGS IN TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED FOOD AND DRINK INDUSTRY AT PETER GREEN CHILLED

Smartcool Systems Inc. agency partner CoolSave has successfully installed Smartcool ESM technology at Peter Green Chilled.

Peter Green Chilled operates a nationwide next-day delivery network for chilled, frozen, ambient and confectionery food products. Delivery points include catering and manufacturing sites, food service, wholesalers, markets and hotel groups.

The Smartcool ESM technology installation is saving over 330,000 kilowatt-hours annually and due to an innovative funding option, the installation puts Peter Green Chilled in a cash-positive position from day one.

Independent, device-level submetering was installed to measure energy consumption at device level and categorically prove the savings in CoolSave projects using Smartcool technology. This enables customers to fully validate results through an easily accessed Web portal.

Nick Weedon, CoolSave's national sales manager, commented: "Smartcool's technology has provided Peter Green Chilled with a significant energy reduction and efficiency across their refrigerated estate. The fully funded project has also enabled Peter Green Chilled the ability to realize a cash-positive position without any major upfront capital expenditure.
