Kwantes refreshes Sabina buy

2017-04-04 21:38 ET - In the News

James Kwantes, in the March 22, 2017, edition of Resource Opportunities, refreshes his buy of Sabina Gold & Silver Corp., recently $1.50. Mr. Kwantes previously said buy on May 18, 2015, at 39 cents and on Dec. 30, 2015, at 74 cents. He said sell on June 21, 2016, at $1.06. Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the two buys, the sale yielded a profit of $2,119. Mr. Kwantes then said buy Sabina on Sept. 30, 2016, at $1.39. A $1,000 investment then is now worth $1,078. Sabina owns the Back River gold project in Nunavut. A feasibility study pegged Back River's after-tax internal rate of return at 24.2 per cent, assuming average production of 198,000 ounces a year over a 12-year mine life. Back River has suffered from permitting setbacks, but Mr. Kwantes is hopeful that these will be resolved this spring or summer. This spring will also see the start of a 6,000-metre drill program at Back River, focusing on resource expansion and new discoveries. Sabina recently raised $6-million at $1.75 a share to help pay for this work, and now has about $45-million in its treasury. Mr. Kwantes sees Back River as one of the best undeveloped gold deposits in the world. He expects it to be bought by a major, perhaps as early as this year.
