Kwantes refreshes Sabina buy

2017-02-13 21:46 ET - In the News

James Kwantes, in the Jan. 19, 2017, edition of Resource Opportunities, refreshes his buy of Sabina Gold & Silver Corp., recently $1.29. Mr. Kwantes previously said buy on May 18, 2015, at 39 cents and on Dec. 30, 2015, at 74 cents. He said sell on June 21, 2016, at $1.06. Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the two buys, the sale yielded a profit of $2,119. Mr. Kwantes said buy back into Sabina on Sept. 30, 2016, at $1.39. A $1,000 investment then is now worth $927. Sabina owns the high-grade Back River gold project in Nunavut. Mr. Kwantes reminds readers that he said sell Sabina last summer, after the Nunavut Impact Review Board (NIRB) recommended to the Canadian government that Back River not proceed. Sabina spent the rest of 2016 plunging to about 70 cents from over $1.70. The year 2017 has been much kinder so far. On Jan. 12, the Canadian government referred the project back to the NIRB for further review, calling the original review "deficient." Thanks to Ottawa's firm rejection of the NIRB's initial report, Sabina's stock is now approaching $1.30, and Mr. Kwantes sees reasonable odds that an acquirer will take an interest in Back River. He concludes that Sabina is a buy at today's levels.
