Mr. Neal Black reports

RITCHIE BROS. SELLS US$50+ MILLION OF EQUIPMENT IN FINAL FORT WORTH, TX AUCTION OF 2017

This week Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Inc. sold over 4,100 equipment items and trucks for over $50-million (U.S.) at its unreserved auction in Fort Worth, Tex., setting a new December sales record for the site.

More than 5,000 people from 60 countries registered to bid in the auction on Dec. 13 to Dec. 14, 2017, including over 3,500 people registering to bid on-line. U.S. buyers purchased 91 per cent of the equipment, including 40 per cent purchased by Texas buyers, while international buyers from as far away as India, Italy and Vietnam purchased 9 per cent of the equipment. On-line buyers purchased 56 per cent of the equipment.

"We had a great auction this week -- our largest sale ever in December -- with an uptick in pricing in most equipment categories," said Neal Black, regional sales manager, Ritchie Bros. "We saw particularly strong pricing for the nice forestry package in the auction, which sold to buyers across the country and into Canada. We also saw good prices for the massive selection of transportation assets in the sale."

Mr. Black continued, "We'd like to thank all the buyers and sellers that participated in our Fort Worth auctions this year -- from our site's largest auction ever in March to our site's largest December auction ever."

Ritchie Bros. sold equipment for over 575 owners in the Fort Worth auction.
