IRONPLANET TO CONDUCT RETIREMENT AUCTION FOR 41-YEAR-OLD NEW JERSEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Inc.'s IronPlanet will host an on-line auction for D.R. Mullen Construction Company Inc. on Dec. 14. Ray Mullen opened his construction business 41 years ago in Northern New Jersey. Shortly after the company opened, the county where his company was located experienced a housing boom and his company boomed along with it. Specializing in site work, road construction, sewer, watermain and storm drain installation, as well as curbing and paving, D.R. Mullen Construction was busy, growing to 35 employees.

Now 71 years old, after a great run in the business, Mr. Mullen has decided to retire, choosing to sell all his company's equipment and trucks unreserved through an IronPlanet weekly on-line auction on Dec. 14. Equipment highlights in the auction include excavators, dozers, graders, rollers, dump trucks, fuel trucks, service trucks and more.

"We've always been very studious in the repair and service of our equipment -- it's all ready to go to work for new owners," said Mr. Mullen. "I chose to sell with IronPlanet because of the convenience their on-line auctions provide. They can market my equipment to buyers all around the world."

More than 130 items will be sold for D.R. Mullen Construction on Dec. 14. Items will be available for preview and priority bidding starting Dec. 1.

"We're honoured Ray has trusted us to sell his assets and help fund his retirement -- it's a responsibility we take great pride in," said David Kreis, regional sales manager, Ritchie Bros. "Ritchie Bros. solutions are designed to make buying and selling easy. With IronPlanet on-line auctions, sellers benefit from our global reach and marketing strength with the convenience of selling equipment where it sits. Buyers have access to equipment inspection reports, high-res photos and can quickly and easily bid from their desktop or mobile."
