Lomiko Metals Inc.'s chief executive officer, Amrit Paul Gill, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court of British Columbia seeking to identify Stockhouse posters who called him a fraudster and accused him of running a pump-and-dump. He claims that the users, known as "gwaa" and "buybuybuy1," have posted a number of unquestionably defamatory statements, and that he has no way of identifying them. He asks that the courts order Stockhouse to turn over any information that could assist in naming the pair.

The petition, filed at the Vancouver courthouse on Tuesday, Sept. 18, complains about messages that appeared in the Stockhouse message boards for Lomiko and another company for which Mr. Gill has worked, Grenville Gold Corp. The messages by the user "gwaa" began June 29, 2012, and stated that Mr. Gill was guilty of "criminal fraud" and "criminal conspiracy"; was a "fraudster"; had findings of "conspiracy to commit fraud" and "criminal fraud" made against him; and that Mr. Gill had committed regulatory infractions.

"Stockhouse has indicated that it will turn over identifying information for the users upon Mr. Gill securing a court order and paying a $150 retrieval fee."

Another revenue stream for Stockhouse? Gotta love the entrepreneurial spirit (in God we trust; all others prepay?).

What a waste of time and resources. "The best revenge is success"

Mr. Gill says they falsely accused him of being a "jerk" - this should be a riving court case! How does one prove one is not a jerk?

I must say, companies that spend their time dealing with the morons on the chatlines, are not, IMO, focusing in the proper direction.

"How does one prove one is not a jerk?"

Likely exactly the same way that buybuybuy1 did seemingly prove that one was a jerk; by posting on the Stockhouse forum under your own name that you're not a jerk.

"dealing with the morons on the chatlines". Yes, indeed. Wonder how much time Ian Telfer spends trolling the chatlines, looking for "material which is unquestionably defamatory and actionable"? Probably not much (and he'd hardly designate such a serious task to a minion), as he's got a whole herd of elephant-sized companies to make even bigger, better and more profitable).

How the Howe Street action has gone upmarket but sadly downhill! In the glory days of the VSE (ya hear me up there, Murray?), this would have been settled in the parking lot of the Hotel Vancouver (keying the defamer's high-end-but-oh-so-visible wheels).

Another waste of time money by company CEO..grow up get a thicker shkin and create shareholder value.Thats what you get paid the big bucks for.

May be now onwards...stockhouse should screen all messages before they put it onlline... Why would anybody look into this kind of messages......and take legal action.. People are not serious those who post on this kind of social netwrok..... and nobody make any investement decision based on this kind of comments

Hey Mr Gill, you've got a five cent stock you're running here, obviously management are incompetent. You have no basis for an action. On the contrary, the shareholders should be suing you for such a performance. Do the right thing. Resign.

This is ridiculous. I, for one, can never imagine the day somebody like Lukas Lundin or Robert Friedland is bothered by what people write on the Internet forums about them. They're busy creating shareholder value, instead of embarassing themselves being a cry-baby about hurt feelings and acting like a jerk looking to slam a bill on people that quite likely has lost money already on a company they're understandably venting their frustrations about. I will never ever invest in management that has the time to sit and sue Internet-posters when they should be running a company.
