MICHAEL HANLEY JOINS THE INDUSTRIAL ALLIANCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Michael Hanley was elected to the Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc.'s board of directors during the company's annual meeting held today at the Quebec City Convention Centre.
Mr. Hanley is a chartered accountant and a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agrees du Quebec (CPA, CA). He has been a corporate director since 2012, and has chaired various audit and finance committees. He has also previously held executive positions within major Canadian corporations.
The Industrial Alliance board of directors is chaired by John LeBoutillier and is made up of 14 members, as outlined below.
Shareholders directors: Jocelyne Bourgon, Pierre Brodeur, Yvon Charest, Denyse Chicoyne, Mr. Hanley, Mr. LeBoutillier, Jacques Martin, Francis P. McGuire and Mary C. Ritchie.
Policyholders directors: Robert Coallier, L.G. Serge Gadbois, Claude Lamoureux, Danielle G. Morin and Jim Pantelidis.
For a number of years, women have accounted for no less than 20 per cent of the Industrial Alliance board of directors, which is higher than average for large Canadian companies. At this time, women make up 28.5 per cent of the board's membership.
