NOTICE OF SETTLEMENT APPROVAL - HOME CAPITAL GROUP INC. SECURITIES CLASS ACTION

On Feb. 13, 2017, an action styled McDonald versus Home Capital Group Inc. et al. was commenced in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on behalf of persons who acquired Home Capital Group shares between Nov. 5, 2014, to July 10, 2015. The action is related to Home Capital Group's allegedly misleading disclosure in relation to mortgage origination practices and changes in mortgage origination during the class period.

A settlement of the action in the amount of $29.5-million, paid for the benefit of affected class members, has been approved by the court. The settlement is a compromise of disputed claims and is not an admission of liability or wrongdoing by Home Capital Group or any other defendant named in the action.

If you acquired Home Capital Group shares during the class period, you may be eligible for compensation. In order to recover any such compensation, you must submit a completed claim form to RicePoint Administration Inc. no later than Jan. 22, 2018.

Note: If you do not timely submit a claim form, you will not be entitled to any compensation; and, unless you have previously opted out, you will not be entitled to pursue any other action in respect of those claims.
